Hi, my name is Kayla Jean!

I am pleased to announce that this June 2024 I will be graduating from the University of California, Irvine! I will be receiving my Bachelors in Drama with an Honors in Drama!

Many people have been curious as to what my post-graduation prospects are, I was too at the beginning of this year. However, it has been confirmed, I have been accepted into two Musical Theatre programs this summer which I will be attending to develop my craft further!

This June, I will be heading to Trentino, Italy to train as a “young artist” in the Trentino Music Festival’s Musical Theatre program. The month-long program will develop my acting, singing, dance, and audition techniques while rehearsing for two sets of performances: Broadway Gala concerts as well as a staged production of Spring Awakening. This program has esteemed faculty who’ve been regularly engaged as music directors, stage directors, and performers on Broadway, National Tours, and Regional productions. I am incredibly excited to work with these professionals and take this next step in my musical theatre journey!

This July I will be back in Los Angeles at the Stella Adler Studio to participate in a Musical Theatre on Film intensive. The two-week program will include classes such as “On Camera Acting Technique,” “Acting a Song,” “Jazz for Actors,” “Singing Practicum,” “Audition Skills and Strategies,” “Business of Film,” “Vocal Recording Studio,” and Guest Master Classes. This program also hosts a variety of faculty accomplished in the theatre and film industries, each specializing in their respective courses. I am incredibly excited to work with these professionals and develop these skills!

These programs are a wonderful opportunity for me to develop my craft in ways that are on par with professionals.
