On July 21st 2022, my niece Katalina (Katy) Camacho (age 14) was diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. This diagnosis is a family's worst nightmare. After recently recovering from COVID-19, Katy, continued to exhibit worsening symptoms. Her mother immediately took her to the hospital, where she was then taken to The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio for emergency chemotherapy. Katy is still currently receiving treatment with her family by her side. Through this traumatic ordeal, Katy has been resilient and determined to fight this Cancer. Katy has a tremendous spirit and positive perspective, like her parents, family and friends.

Although Katy has family and friends providing emotional support, the expenses to her parents have become nearly impossible to manage. As both parents have been by her side, they have not been able to work enough to pay for day-to-day costs of living and medical expenses. Katy is happiest when she is doing what she loves most, painting and being with her two cats Binx and Sylvester. Our hearts are heavy as we prepare for what lies ahead. We are kindly asking for any financial assistance from persons who may be willing to help the family through this difficult time. Any assistance would greatly be appreciated and would absolutely lift the spirits of the family and Katy as she continues her fight.
