Hello! My name is Syd and this is my sassy, anxious, baby boy, Junho. He’s been my home, and basically child, since he came to me at the start of COVID. He is full of personality, love, and noise, and is the absolute sweetest fur baby I could ever ask for; we’re each other’s home.

I have had pets all throughout my life and am far too familiar with the sadness of losing a pet in the family, but this one is doing a number as he has been rapidly deteriorating in health at the young age of 5. I am never one to enjoy asking for help, especially financially, however Junho has been rapidly declining due to his lack of interest in eating and drinking, as well as lack of urination and bowel movements. In these past five days, we’ve managed to do X-rays, nausea medications and hydration, but it’s only been slowing down what’s been going on. We adopted him with his sister who also fell ill rapidly and passed away after being here for barely a year, and now Junho is exhibiting the exact same symptoms.

There’s not a whole lot at the moment we can do besides pain management and attempting to get him to eat and drink, but we need to get an ultrasound done on him to further treat what’s going on. The vets never figured out what was wrong with his sister, but luckily my kitty’s condition seems to be slowed with his current treatment. The X-rays show gas in what the doctors believe is his small intestines but it is unclear if it is being caused by blockage or inflammation (needs an ultrasound to confirm). I just had a major shoulder surgery in mid-September that I am still recovering from (physically and financially) and am going to school full time at CSUF. This cat has been by my side through sleepless school nights to road trips and sitting in my lap playing Skyrim/Stardew Valley on my Switch. He has been my home for the past 5 years and I can’t see him continue to live in pain.

We want to know why this is happening and hopefully get the closure his sister didn’t have the chance to receive. I hate to say that I can’t do it without help, but he needs all the help he can get right now.
