Hi, my name is Mike Hassell and I'm raising money for a friend and co-worker, Jumal George. Jumal was arrested by NYPD on October 11th, 2023 for driving without a license. He is currently being held in Rikers Island as he awaits extradition to Pennsylvania for a felony cannabis edible charge. Jumal works in the legal cannabis industry and while it isn't a crime for him to carry edibles here in NY, it still is in PA. NY has dropped all charges, yet he still sits in Rikers waiting for PA to pick him up on the edible charge. Like most of us in the cannabis industry, this whole situation seems absurd. We are raising funds for his legal defense and bail. Jumal has a bright future in the legal cannabis industry and we want to help him gain his freedom. Cannabis is not a crime!
