Hello! Our friend Julie Carpenter, a researcher and author based in California, has faced a series of serious health challenges over the past year. Julie suffered a heart attack in this year and then two weeks ago was hospitalized repeatedly for an adverse medication reaction.

Since her heart attack, she has been under ongoing care from multiple specialists, including cardiology and nephrology. Recent complications, medications, and repeated hospital visits have

left her in a fragile recovery process with uncertain next steps.

At the same time, Julie has been navigating a difficult job market. Despite her PhD, publications, and recent speaking engagements, she has been unemployed for over a year, and her savings and

unemployment benefits have long since run out. Without family to lean on, she is trying to cover daily expenses and prepare for the costs of ongoing medical care while she works toward stability.

Doctors have recommended that Julie apply for Medi-Cal home health care, but that process will take weeks and is uncertain. In the meantime, she needs immediate help to bridge the gap. Funds raised will go toward:
