Hey everyone, my name is Juan Sebastian Varela and I am creating this GoFundMe page with the unfortunate circumstance of an injury I had in December 2021 that now needs surgery.

In December I injured my right knee but was able to get back on my feet a few weeks later after some home care and rehab. As luck would have it, in April 1st 2022 while leaving work the same knee gave out and I collapsed. After a trip to the ER and several doctors appointments, I will now be getting surgery on June 1st, 2022 to repair my torn meniscus and ACL to then start my road to recovery. According to my doctor I will not be able to start walking for at least 4-6 weeks post-surgery.

Due to this I created this page to help with medical expenses for the surgery, the post-op therapy needed, and to help with the necessary living expenses since I will not be able to work. Dealing with this injury since December has only allowed me to work for just a few weeks in the past six months since the nature of my work requires me to be on my feet constantly walking around and even running at times.

I am currently not able to work in my full time job as a barkeep for important events all around Miami while starting up my own small business, Flavor Fresh, where we meal prep, cater, and deliver meals. I also coach children’s soccer for 4-7 year olds two to three times a week since soccer is a passion of mine.

Hola, soy Juan Sebastian Varela y estoy creando este go fund me porque desafortunadamente en Diciembre tuve una lesión de rodilla de la cual recaí en Abril y ahora necesito cirugía.

En Diciembre 2021 me lastime la rodilla pero pude reincorporarme unas semanas después. Luego de una recuperación en casa. Pero el primero de Abril 2022 Saliendo del trabajo mi rodilla cedió y colapsé. Después de ir a emergencias y de varias citas medicas ahora necesito cirugía la cual sera el 1ro de Junio 2022 para reparar mi ligamento cruzado anterior y el menisco medial y luego empezar mi recuperación. Segun el doctor ya debería estar de pie en un promedio de 4-6 semanas!post operación.

Por esta situación decidí crear esta pagina para ayudar con el costo de la operación, terapias y las utilidades necesarias ya que no podré trabajar. Lidiando con esta lesión solo he podido trabajar unas cuantas semanas en los últimos 6 meses ya que la naturaleza de mi trabajo me requiere estar de pie, caminar y aveces correr.

En este momento no he podido volver a mi trabajo de tiempo completo como barkeep en eventos importantes de Miami mientras empezaba de nuevo my negocio, Flavor Fresh, donde preparamos comida y hacemos catering con domicilios. Tambien soy entrenador de futbol Soccer de niños entre 4-7 años de 2 a 3 veces por semana ya que este deporte es una de mis pasiones.
