Hi, my name is Daryl Hernandez. I'm Jordin's husband. Jordin and I have been together for 14 years and married for 7 years. We have two beautiful children together, a 5 year old girl and a 8 month old boy. Life has just been great to us but on February 25, 2023 life threw something that neither of us were ready for. Jordin became very ill and complained her shoulder was hurting. She showed me her shoulder and I noticed it was really swollen. I thought she might of hurt it carrying our baby. The day went by and she did not get better, she got worst. We rushed her to the hospital, thinking she might have the flu or something. They tested her for the flu and covid but came out negative. The doctors didn't know what was wrong with her. She was transported to ICU and that's when I knew it was really serious. They scanned her body and found something unusual on her chest and shoulder area. It was some kind of bacteria and it was spreading like wild fire. The antibiotics wouldn't work fast enough to get there, so emergency surgery was the only option to save her life before it got in her bloodstream. They told me there's a chance her joint could be damaged from the surgery and if it did, they would have to amputate her arm. Luckily the joint was okay and that didn't go through. She had a total of four surgeries in four days. The surgeon thinks they stopped the infection. I'm so happy the bad part is over but I'm afraid her arm will never be the same. The surgeon also told me that this was a life-or-death situation and things could've gone south real quick. She's definitely a fighter and has so much to live for. We believe she's on the road to recovery but it's going to take some time. I pray for a fast recovery and for her to be home with our family soon. If you know Jordin, you know she's an amazing mom, wife, friend, daughter, and of course cosmetologist. She has the biggest heart and always goes out of her way to help anybody out.
