Donate to help John Fernander with his total loss
Donation protected
Hi. We are Kalina Fernander Grimm and Krista Fernander Shoemaker. Our dad, John Fernander, was diagnosed with a demylenating disease (most similar to MS), and we have been rushing against the clock to prepare his home in Haralson County for the inevitable loss of his ability to walk, or the potential decline in his mobility or selfcare due to the disease's progression or the emergence of new lesions.
On 03/01/24, just a couple weeks shy of his 70th birthday, the (uninsured) home that all of the family has been working on went up in flames. Unfortunately, it was a total loss. There may be some cast iron pans or some small sentimental items which may be salvageable, but the home itself is gone.
He really needs your help. Over the years our dad has served the community, helped out many people, and touched countless lives. If anyone ever asked about John Fernander, the first thing that would be said is that he would give you the shirt off his back, and help you in anyway possible. He has never met a stranger.
He's now 70 and disabled. Unfortunately, we are maxed out financially with what we are able to do ourselves, and this loss is devastating. Every little bit helps us, so please donate what you can. If he has ever touched your life, now is the time for you to be able to pay back his kindness. If you've never met him, know he would be shaking your hand and asking what he could do for you.
Any funds raised will go into/towards replacing the loss with a tiny home/modular home (Haralson County requires 800 Sq feet for a home) for him on the property he has. If we happen to be abundantly blessed, and we are fortunate enough for this to gain momentum, our priority would be to secure him a safe home, followed by the aquisition of a small economical vehicle. (His 350,000 mile Honda became inoperable in October. Parts have been impossible to find due to it being manual and so few of them made here in the US. Since October, he has be reliant on borrowed vehicles from family members. )
He has endured numerous health challeges, including being a colorectal cancer survivor, to this most recent diagnosis. This current tragedy has left us heavy hearted. We could use your blessings. If you're unable to donate at this time, please keep him in your prayers.
A seperate account has been set up in John Fernander's name at Bank OZK, formally known as The Bank of the Ozarks, for all contributions.
