Donate to help John Carter

Hi, I'm Cindy Goff and I'm fundraising for John Carter, one the greatest people walking the face of this earth. John is the son of my oldest and best friend, Tracey, which makes him my nephew. John is a policeman for the town of Abingdon in Virginia. He found out about a month ago he has papillary thyroid cancer. There is a large tumor in his thyroid and lymph nodes, and he is facing two huge surgeries at Duke University this summer. On top of this, last week he had to have his appendix out and they discovered a different kind of cancer in his appendix. John and his family are facing a series of significant surgeries with associated time off and extended stays out of town and could really use help getting through this difficult time.

John graduated from the police acadamy in 2021 where he was voted class president by his fellow cadets. Listen to part of John's speech. He worked so hard to become a police officier, and he loves his job in Abingdon.

John worked for years at Food City so he didn't have to take out any loans while he was attending Virginia Highlands Community College. He has an incredible work ethic and lives in service to others. The other great part about John is his wife Heather. They are amazing together!

All the funds raised will go to John's medical and personal expenses while he's in treatment and recovery. John has a hard time asking for help sometimes, so I'm doing it for him.
