Hi, my name is Joseph Valenzuela I am fundraising for our son Joseph Valenzuela Jr. Everyone knows him as "JJ". He got sick on Christmas and was transported to hospital where he is still receiving medical treatment. He was first diagnosed with influenza a and parainfluenza that turned into pneumonia. He was put on ventilator to help him breathe and give him extra support. He also had mssa infection that spread through his body and lungs and had a double pneumothorax so they placed chest tubes on both sides. He is receiving a lot of medicines and fluids to try to help. He went into septic shock and has multi organ failure and ards. His internal gas levels reached 100 percent and had to be placed on ecmo vv with life-threatening respiratory failure. They connected crrt machine to him for renal replacement therapy for his acute kidney injury because they are not working properly and to extract all extra fluids and toxins from his body. JJ is our little soldier fighting strong against all odds and truly a miracle. He loves to dance, go swimming, play musical instruments, and play with his 3 sisters. Myself and his mother have not been able to work and there is no foreseeable future of when we might be able to return to work. JJ mom is a nurse and has been by his bedside 24/7 and I have been juggling going back and forth to hospital as well as taking care of our 3 daughters.
