Hello, My Name is John Leibel, and I am not only a friend of Jeremiah Crowe, but also a work mentee of his from our time working together at the Minnesota Department Of Human Services, please take a look at his story.
Jeremiah Crowe has spent several years proudly working for Minnesota Department Of Human Services.
In that time he has had several roles, ranging from direct care as a BMA and SDS at the Crestview and Ilex programs respectively (making serious positive impacts especially during his time at Ilex) to transitioning away from direct care as a support staff to an EASE instructor where he was able to support fellow state employees by teaching them the skills needed to stay safe while doing the great work of supporting behaviorally complex individuals.
The one constant during Jeremiah’s time with DHS before having to medically retire was that he was always happily helping someone, whether that was a disabled adult supported by the state or both new and veteran DHS employees across the state. Jeremiah would also go out of his way to share his knowledge with fellow employees, and in some cases mentor them, leading to future success.
Jeremiah has had a complex medical history, with Cardiac conditions being at the forefront.
On December 14th, 2023, Jeremiah had to undergo a Quadruple Bypass at the Mayo Clinic, even though the procedure was a success there were several other complications that have followed, which have included other surgeries and procedures regarding his GI tract, kidneys and bowels.
Because of this Jeremiah has remained at the Mayo clinic in Rochester since his cardiac surgery which has had him in various states including being sedated in the Intensive Care Unit for weeks at a time. As of 2/26/24 His mother was told by the care team that he may be in for another 3 Months.
Due to Jeremiah’s timing of medical retirement his social security benefits have not kicked in yet and to say that he and his elderly Mother Charolet are in serious financial trouble is a gross understatement. Things like rent and utilities are now falling behind while these ongoing medical complications are amounting in some serious medical debt. This could very well leave them homeless.
If you can take the time to donate, it would be greatly appreciated, they need all the help they can get.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and please donate and spread the word to anybody in DHS that has either worked with or was trained by Jeremiah Crowe.
