Update: 2/23/25
Jenny is amazing. She had surgery Friday to remove the bone and plate they put in last year. They took a 3D replica of her right cheek to use as her left cheek. They replaced the bottom of her eye orbital, lifted her eye and closed off the hole in the roof of her mouth. Today, just 2 days later she is able to open her eye and take some steps…unbelievable progress. Your donations go a long way towards her being able to pay some of these medical bills You all rock. We all feel your love and appreciate the support you continue to bless Jenny with.

UPDATE 3/21/24 Hi friends! I just want to share an update on Jenny McConomy. First of all I really want to thank you all for sincerely keeping Jen in your thoughts and prayers. We feel ya❤️ And thank you for continually reaching out to us for updates - we love that you care. Now for some great news…we spent the last couple of days at U of M for many tests and doctor appointments. Her CT scan shows that there is no cancer in her lungs. Also her echo test shows no heart damage. Her labs are not great…but they have improved. She has had a rough 6 weeks which have included blood transfusions, hospital stays, and her lungs collapsing in to each other…and today she is doing well. Her next set of tests will be the end of April which will include an MRI. What’s next? Well Jenny is on a mission to gain her strength back, which the doctors told us will take a year to get back to 80% - she is ok with that, she is happy to spend less time in bed. She will also have a minor surgery to shave down some bone in her nasal passage so that she can breath better. As far as her NEW cheek (upper jaw) goes - she still has much healing to do. They want new tissue to grow over the metal plate they put in, however the chemo has kept this from happening. They may need to do a skin graft but they want to give it awhile to see if her body will do it on its own. They are also working with Jen on her obturator (prosthetic teeth and roof of her mouth). She did better with it yesterday….but she can’t wear it very long without gagging and choking. Something she will have to practice. In the future she will have one made with titanium and will be thinner which will be more comfortable. She has a long way to go….many appointments, many tests, and a ways to go to build up her stamina. Thank you all again for your continued support. I know I can speak for Jenny and the rest of our family- we are so grateful to all of you for your kindness and support. UPDATE 11/9/23 First of all Jenny McConomy is my hero, as I’m sure she has become for many of you. This all started about 12 weeks ago when she was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma High Grade - which WAS located in her upper left jaw. Since then treatment at the University of Michigan kicked off with a vengeance. Three rounds of chemo and then yesterday an 18 hour surgery to remove her jaw and tumor, reconstructive surgery where they built a new jaw and eye socket from bone, tissue and arteries from her leg, and the placement of a tracheotomy and feeding tube. The final piece of the surgery is to put in teeth “similar to a partial”. However due to the swelling they will do this in the near future.

She is doing as expected: face and neck swelling, she cannot talk, she can open her eyes slightly for a brief second at a time, and she is experiencing leg and face pain. She is currently in ICU. Communication is difficult but I keep her updated on all of your well wishes and support. She is a fighter - she knows this will be a long and not so pleasant journey - but she is up for it. She feeds off of all of your love and support♥️

I love you Jen. You have your family, friends, and all these wonderful people who care about you - we will support you and provide strength - every step of the way♥️♥️♥️UPDATE 10/13/23: Jenny is in round 3 of her Chemo. This week is the last of chemo until after her surgery which is still scheduled for November 8th, if all of her scans and tests come back with the results they are looking for. In addition to her chemo she also ended up having two blood transfusions this week. She has a couple of trips back to U of M next week for hydration, an appointment with her surgeon and other tests/scans. She is feeling ok. She even got to go on a short field trip with her son today. We did find out a bit more about the surgery. Before surgery the surgeons are using CT scans of the tumor and jaw to build a model of the area that is reconstructed. To build the jaw, they will use pieces of the fibula or shoulder bone. After the jawbone is built and put in place, the oral surgeon will put in prosthetic teeth. These will be removable so they can monitor her healing. In a year or so, she can have dental implants. This is an extensive reconstruction and will require her to have a feeding tube for a while. Thank you all so much for your love and support❤️

9/18/23: Jenny's labs this morning showed that her kidney function is below normal so they have changed her chemo type and the schedule she will be receiving it. Her magnesium was also low so they are giving her that through infusion.

Her surgery is still scheduled for 11/8 but could be moved depending on the new chemo schedule. This is a very intense surgery. She will come out of the surgery with her tumor removed and a newly constructed jaw using bones from her shoulder area. They will replace her teeth with partials while in surgery. They will change her teeth probably 3 times as things shift during the healing. The teeth will also provide a protective barrier. Then in a year she can get implants. She will have a tracheostomy and feeding tube, but hopefully not for long! Please continue with your love and support! Jenny wants you to know she feels comfort knowing you all are praying for her, sending your positive vibes and showing an overwhelming amount of support! Your generosity and love go a long way in helping this young lady fight!!!

Jenny was recently diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a bone cancer, and will be undergoing chemotherapy and surgery at the University of Michigan. After having two root canals, she had significant swelling in her upper jaw which she thought might be an infection. She went to an oral surgeon who did X-rays and discovered a mass which led to a biopsy. She will receive a very aggressive chemotherapy regimen - 5 rounds that are each 5 weeks long. Sometime between treatments they will perform surgery. She has a very rough year ahead of her and my hope is to relieve some of the financial burden.

This will be a long journey for her and Mike and their 4 year old son, Kayden. To help her pay for travel back and forth to U of M, the hotel costs, treatment, medications and everything else she needs to help her fight this monster, we are raising funds.

If know Jen, then you know she is the one that is always helping everyone else, so let’s be there for her!

Jenny is asking for prayers - prayers that there are no other spots, prayers for healing, prayers for the doctors, prayers that the chemo does what it needs to do, and prayers for strength.

Thank you all for taking the time to read this and for your love and support. We will keep everyone posted on Jenny’s journey!
