My name is Justin and I am fundraising to help my sister Jennifer cover medical expenses due to a recent auto-immune inflammatory disease diagnosis that required a hospital stay. These funds will be used to offset all hospital related care not covered by her insurance. All remaining funds raised will be used for ongoing required medication and medically necessary tests required due to her diagnosis.
On Tuesday, May 23, Jennifer started to feel dizzy and nauseous while teaching her first few school periods. By fifth period before lunch, she knew something was wrong as she could not walk without leaning against a wall for support. A coworker drove her to urgent care, where a battery of tests was conducted to rule out a stroke or infection. Thinking it was just passing vertigo, a prescription was written to assist with these symptoms, and she was sent home.
On Wednesday morning, Jennifer could not stand up without falling due to intense vertigo and had double-vision. Knowing something was very wrong with her, she asked our mother to transport her to the emergency room. She was admitted to Los Alamitos Medical Center immediately. A number of computerized tomography (CT) scans and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans were taken over the next two days, and an anti-inflammatory was administered. Feeling much better within 24 hours, Jennifer continues to make progress each day and is scheduled to be discharged Tuesday, May 30.
Jennifer cannot wait to be back in the classroom with her students. In fact, she has been spending some of her waking hours each day grading papers and submitting grades online. Grading never ends, even in the hospital!
So you know I am all in and would not ask you to do something that I am unwilling to do, please note that I will make an initial donation of $200 and then MATCH 10% of the total raised (up to $1,000 aggregate) of all donations received through June 20.
