Hey Friends and Family!
Not many of you may know this, but our friend Jen Sabourin has experienced a health setback. It had started after days of feeling quite ill with a consistent fever and the decision was made on February 7th to take Jen to urgent care. What was thought may have been a flu ended up being a much more complicated and life threatening event which lead to Jen being admitted to the ICU at Foothills Hospital.
After many tests and specialists, they concluded her body had gone into sepsis which required aggressive life saving medical interventions and took a toll on her liver, kidneys, and heart. The proceeding 5 days there were many more drs, nurses and specialists working very hard in the ICU to find the location of the infection. On Tuesday they were finally able to administer targeted antibiotics for her infection and began to work on reversing the impacts from the life saving measures that were taken over the past few days to start bringing her body back around.
She is now recovering and has made great strides since her stay in the ICU and was discharged after two weeks in the hospital. Although she has been discharged, she is still completing a course of IV antibiotics as an outpatient and definitely needs to take things slowly and rest at this time.
All things considered Jen is going to be off work for a while and we are putting this GoFundMe together to help alleviate some of the financial strain that inevitably accompanies this whole journey.
We know that there is a huge community of people that love and care for Jen! That being said, we are currently banding together in her time of need to help her navigate the next chapter of this health struggle which will undoubtedly require financial assistance as she works towards regaining her strength and healing her body.
Any help that one feels they are able to provide at this time would be so very much appreciated. We all love our girl and cannot wait to see her back to her old self, happy healthy and thriving.
