I'm Skyler Whitmore. As many of you know, Jeff Michie (my Dad) has been in the ICU, in Nebraska, since September 2nd, 2025, after breaking his neck. I've struggled back and forth in determining to set up this account. I know there are plenty of people asking for money and we aren't in poverty or anything like that, but bills are coming in, and they are unexpected. Ultimately, I've decided to go forward in activating it because insurance has denied his transfer to Madonna Rehab Hospital in Lincoln, NE. We've tried multiple appeals with no success. Lots of people want to help, and this is one avenue to do just that. These funds could help in keeping Lisa with him, in Nebraska. So far, Lisa has transferred to 5 different hotels and spends every day in the ICU with my dad. It gives me great peace knowing that she's there to keep him company and to advocate for him. But, it's getting expensive. We aren't asking for a lot - maybe buy her a coffee or a lunch to offset some of the out-of-pocket costs. Anything else would go to pending medical bills.
