Donate to Help James Peterson and Family

We are starting this fundraiser to help raise money for my brother James Peterson to support his family with medical and living expenses related to his current hospitalization. Jim had been experiencing extreme fatigue and weakness for several months. He regularly saw a doctor and had routine bloodwork done with no diagnosis of what was happening with him. After several trips to the hospital and countless doctor visits with no answers, they eventually suspected that he might have some sort of Leukemia or blood disorder. He was supposed to see a Cancer specialist for testing but never made it to his appointment on Monday, May 2. On Monday, the doctor’s office called his wife Sue and told her that he never showed up. We called him repeatedly with no answer. Worried sick, I drove to his home and found him disoriented, weak and confused. Sue called 911, and upon their arrival, he was able to answer (barley) their questions, and his vitals were stable, so they told her they would not transport him to the hospital. She knew something was horribly wrong and drove him there herself. They told her he had pneumonia, a blood infection, and possible sepsis upon arrival. We also learned that his kidneys were failing. He was in the ICU for several days, and his kidneys improved significantly. They told us in “layman's terms” that his blood is too thick, and he is currently receiving a course of plasma exchange treatments. The next step is a bone marrow test to see if he does have some form of leukemia, which they suspect. He had surgery to drain the fluid off his elbow this morning which had been causing him pain and discomfort for several days prior. We are taking it one day at a time and are praying that he makes it through this. Jim is the father to my sweet little nephews James Jr. who is eight years old, and Blaze, who is five years old and a husband to his lovely wife, Sue. Jim is currently fighting for his life and cannot work, and the bills and expenses are piling up.
