My name is Jackie, and I never thought I’d find myself in this position. Back in July, my life turned upside down when the ceiling in my kitchen and living room completely caved in due to my upstairs neighbor’s burst hot water heater. Over 50 gallons of water flooded my entire condo, destroying my ceiling, furniture, and electronics — including my laptop and dining table. My kitchen has been completely unusable ever since, leaving me without a safe or functional place to cook, eat, or live comfortably.

At first, my upstairs neighbor and the HOA both assured me that they would take care of the damage. Unfortunately, months have passed — and now, as we move into December, I’m still living in an unsafe, damaged home with no repairs made. The situation has become unbearable. My neighbor has continued to renovate his unit while I’ve been left with a home that’s practically unlivable.

After exhausting every option, I’ve had to hire a lawyer to file complaints and fight for the repairs I was promised. I’ve also found a contractor who’s ready to help make my condo livable again — but I can’t afford to move forward without financial help.

I’m raising funds to cover:

The repair and restoration costs for my home

Legal fees to hold those responsible accountable

This has been an incredibly stressful and disheartening experience, but I’m trying to stay hopeful and move forward. Any donation — no matter how small — will make a tremendous difference in helping me rebuild and get my life back on track.
