John Gribbins, husband of Tiffany and father to 4 year old John Patrick, who is currently battling a very aggressive form of cancer. They are an amazing family who have had the toughest of recent news.
John has been in pain for a couple of months. He had several visits with his primary care Dr as well as the chiropractor. He was originally diagnosed with degenerative disk disease, mild arthritis in his shoulder and osteoarthritis in his hip. The dr kept prescribing different medications, but nothing relieved the pain. He was sent to a joint Dr that requested an MRI. He went in for the MRI on a Thursday but was unable to get it done due to the excruciating pain in his back. The next morning, he could no longer take the pain and requested to go to the ER. So on September 1 he went to Skyline ER. They gave him enough medication to get a partial MRI where they discovered he had metastasized cancer in his lower back. Those tumors had caused fractures in his spine which was causing his pain. He then had to have a CT scan to see if they could find where the cancer originated. The only thing that showed there was nodules in his lungs and some enlarged Lymph nodes. A biopsy was done on the lymph node and the result came back as poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma. While in the hospital he was able to have a procedure done on his back to repair the fractures. That procedure did reduce his pain. We were hopeful that would help his mobility, but that has not been the case.
After being 12 days at skyline he was discharged. He was home for 2 days before being rushed back to skyline ER. They discovered he had developed blood clots in both lungs. After 7 more days at Skyline we have gotten his transferred to Centennial Hospital.
We are still seeking answers and a treatment plan. It has been a rough 22 days. We know that the cancer is very aggressive as it has already affected his speech and swallowing. He will be getting a feeding tube put in a some point in the next couple of days to try to get him some strength and nourishment.
We have not met with the oncologist yet to determine his treatment plan for the cancer. He also still needs a pet scan to determine where the cancer is and what the prognosis will be.
No matter the outcome John is a fighter and his family is constantly by his side! Please donate to help the Gribbins family in all present and future expenses.
Please donate what you can and continue to wrap their family in prayers and positive affirmations.
