We're raising funds to help Iddo find legal counsel after an recent driving while impaired by cannabis charge.

Iddo was leaving work at FIGR, an island cannabis production plant, one day. He was heading home to Belfast from Charlottetown and was pulled over in Stratford due to an expired car registration. Upon pulling Iddo over the officer noted the smell of cannabis in the vehicle and insisted on an oral swab despite noting no signs of impairment. Iddo consumes cannabis regularly in the evening to help him sleep and has a valid medical prescription. The swab came back positive from him consuming the night before and he was sent for blood testing. The blood tests showed he was over the criminal limit for cannabis in the blood, despite him not being impaired at the time.

Iddo is hoping to find legal counsel to help him navigate this difficult and scary situation. He cannot afford legal counsel but makes too much to qualify for legal aid, so he is relying on us, his community, for a little help at this time.

Anyone who knows Iddo will agree that he would never put his community at risk by driving impaired. He uses cannabis responsibly and with a valid prescription. Unfortunately, cannabis remains in the saliva and blood for days after consuming, especially if you are a regular consumer. This is a desperate situation for Iddo and any support would mean the world to us.
