UPDATE: Thank you for the outpouring of love and support. With your help we were able to hit our first goal. Huy has now completed 3 of the 4 chemo cycles required and continues to remain hopeful. As treatment continues, so does the increase in medical bills. I have increased our goal in hopes we can continue to financially support Huy’s fight for his life. 

Hi, my name is Nicole and I have created this GoFundMe for my good friend Huy. Huy has been an amazing friend and mentor to me for many years. He is a husband and father to three lovely children, and is one of the most kindhearted people I have ever known.

Huy was diagnosed with Burkitt Lymphoma, a rare and aggressive cancer. It can be a treatable type of cancer, if caught early enough. He must undergo 4 cycles of treatment, and all cycles consist of 2 parts. Needless to say he has a long road ahead.

The reason I have created this GoFundMe is that this process is VERY expensive and insurance coverage only goes so far. In his own words...

"I am relieved we have the medicine and knowledge to treat me and help me get thru this, I’m scared of what the future may bring, I’m angry that I feel like my life has a price tag and people behind the scenes get to negotiate what it’s worth (insurance).

I want to be here for my family, watch my kids grow up, start careers, have their own families. That’s why I’m here, doing whatever to make those future memories come true."
