Nanou's Mission, one smile at a time
Our mother, Anne ‘Nanou’ Erhart, is on a one-woman mission, volunteering her time by traveling to remote areas and providing a fundamental need for children and families: oral health and better health outcomes, one smile at a time.
A skilled dentist turned global health activist, Nanou has achieved over 40 humanitarian missions in the last 30 years! With her unique and incredible spirit and energy, Nanou's self-funded mission has brought health and education to families in India, Mauritania, Bangladesh, Senegal, Mali, Central Africa Republic, Laos and many more.
With each visit, Nanou changes people's lives: impacting their ability to live without debilitating dental pain, positively affecting statistical health outcomes, and enabling people to continue their oral health care by providing life-changing, on-site oral hygiene education.
This is a basic human need, but in many areas, it is simply unmet. Nanou is determined to keep providing her energy, wisdom, and expertise to children and families in as many remote areas as possible. She is currently in Laos, but it's getting difficult for her to plan new missions.
Any donation will go directly to the following:
- Airfare that enables Nanou to fly to remote areas
- Medications and tools necessary for procedures such as tooth extractions, fillings etc...
- Pain relief medication
- Aftercare supplies
Every dollar makes a direct impact.
My sister Laure and I (Jerome) and Nanou's three granddaughters are in awe of our mother and grandmother. We have asked her, 'Don't you ever get tired? Why do you keep doing this?' Nanou's reply, "Children, it's through giving that I receive."
Thank you for helping Nanou do this necessary and inspiring work, one smile at a time.
From our family to yours with sincere gratitude.
