Hi, my name is Emma Mason, and my sister has recently experienced a severe emergency resulting in an extended period of hypoxia that has left her in need of long-term physical and mental healthcare. She was stabilized in the ER but is now facing a number of issues with neurological and cardiac dysfunction including arrhythmia, orthostatic hypotension and syncope that are impairing her ability to walk and function on her own. This has left her requiring 24/7 care, the use of a wheelchair and continuing treatment in the realms of cardiology, neurology, and psychiatry. She is currently in inpatient care and receiving the best treatment that our family can provide under our financial circumstances, but the gravity of the situation requires resources that are not available under insurance coverage.

We are so lucky and grateful that she is here with us today, but we are currently looking at some very significant current and future medical bills. We are trying desperately to get her into an inpatient facility that can provide the resources she needs, both physically and mentally, but admission alone is $30,000 and she will require extensive outpatient treatment. Her well-being is of primary concern, and while we have never asked for the support of our community before, we would greatly appreciate any help that you would be willing to provide.
