Hi Everyone my name is Karen fundraising for Addy Kano’s Mum

Please meet Kano❤️

Kano is a handsome 13.5 years old golden oldie and he has lived his best life for the past nearly 13 years, with Addy, after being rescued off the streets by someone who was walking him about no longer able to look after him. He was rescued by fellow Volunteer Addy Somma who you will know has helped so many many dogs and their families, over the years in her role looking for missing and stolen pets. In the week beginning 9th June Kano became very unwell, not eating or wanting to do much at all and his mouth started bleeding and a lump has formed on his face. Addy took him to the vets without an appointment as she was so worried to look at him. They booked him in for blood tests and X-rays under anaesthetic as they couldn’t get to look in his mouth without doing that on 18th June 2025.

However on Sunday 15th June the bleeding got worse and he had diarrhoea with blood in it. Addy rushed him to the PDSA, they had to sit outside for 3 hours in the blazing heat under an umbrella that Addy luckily had photo below. He was given medication for which Addy paid and made a donation and they said they would ring her on 4th July to see how he is. Photo below. Addy therefore cancelled the appointment at the vets to give the meds time to work. Sadly the medication hasn’t worked so he is booked into the vet for Thursday 3rd July.

Now here comes the reason for our request for help on behalf of Addy and Kano The vet has provided a breakdown of the fees, which are only an estimate as depending what they find when they look in his mouth he may require other treatment, (we are keeping all crossed that this is not cancer rearing it’s ugly head) and it is nearly £900 please see photo 3. The operation needed for Kano is not covered by insurance so we need your help. The vet won’t accept a payment plan and they want the money upfront for THURSDAY 3RD JULY 2025 Please see estimated bill in photos.

Please can you find it in your hearts to donate towards these vet fees. If anyone that has received help over the years from Addy could donate a small amount the target needed will be met. I have set up a GoFund me for Kano with an initial goal of £1000, anything you can spare will be much appreciated as we can’t let this boy suffer any longer and the stress it’s having on Addy is awful. Kano is still bleeding and can’t really eat much, losing weight and he is just not himself
