Hello everyone, my name is Jess Fogerty and I have decided to create this GoFundMe to help out my dear dear friends who have received some devastating medical news and are going to need some support for treatment and investigation.

Giovanni Barrios, born and raised in Los Angeles, is only 29 and has recently discovered that his lifelong struggle with asthma has developed into something far more severe… He does not have an official diagnosis as of right now (will update as the tests come back), but we do know that his pulmonologists have never seen anything close to what is happening within his body. His lungs are deteriorating and they are scrambling to try to find a cause… and hopefully a cure. His current Dr. is reaching out to every specialist he knows for opinions, advice and hopefully and answer on how to move forward.

In early January, his wife Sammy was laid off from her full time job and with these new medical findings, Giovanni has had to leave both his full time and part time job as well. So far between the three job losses, the extensive testing, scans and current medications, their bills are very quickly adding up and my best friends are worried, anxious, and going through something so terrifying and we don’t know what the future holds.

Sammy and Giovanni just got married on Halloween of 2022 and were ready to start a family together as well as so many other plans for their lives. And now just 4 months into marriage, the entire trajectory of their lives look completely different with no real answers or timeline.

Any donations made will go directly to Sammy and Giovanni to help cover bills, medications, future testing, gas to travel to wherever the Dr. sends them, and other unexpected expenses while investigating his health.

This is such an uneasy time, anything you can spare will help my friends so much.
