Ginger is a beloved local bodega cat who was rushed to the emergency vet after his owner noticed his labored breathing and knew something was wrong. At the hospital , Ginger was diagnosed with heart failure -the difficulty breathing was due to fluid accumulating in his lungs. 

Right now, Ginger is in critical condition, receiving oxygen support and emergency medical interventions to stabilize him. He is being kept in an oxygen tank while we wait for an appointment with a veterinary cardiologist who will perform a full cardiac workup and determine a treatment plan. Without medical intervention, Ginger could have only days - or even hours - to live.

Ginger's bodega family is working together with Greenpoint Cats to raise the funds needed to provide the lifesaving medical care he desperately needs.
