On New Year’s Day, my 20yr old daughter Gianna and her boyfriend, were both shot several times in what police believe was an attempted carjacking in Orlando.

She was shot 4 times. The bullets fractured her femur and she needed surgery to put a rod in place. She is in a lot of pain and there will be a long road to recovery. He was shot twice but thankfully he was grazed by the bullets and he is ok.

I’m starting this fundraiser for them since they will have a lot of expenses. She will need physical therapy to get her walking again as well as mental health services. She has no health insurance currently but we are trying to find out what assistance there is for her. She has a high car insurance deductible and the car received lots of damage from the bullets. Most of the windows are shattered and there is blood all over the interior.

Gianna also doesn’t want to return to her apartment in Orlando so she will be needing to move and break her lease which will cost approximately $3,000.

These are such good kids who spend most of their time working on their charcuterie business or spending time with family. They have a one year old Maltese who they absolutely adore and he was actually with them, in the car, during the shooting. He was unharmed thankfully. No one deserves to have to deal with the pain caused, both physically and mentally. They definitely don’t deserve to have all these expenses.
