Donate to help George Birdow

Dear Twain family,

I am sure many of you are familiar and friends with George Birdow, our crossing guard at Mark Twain Elementary.

I personally have had the pleasure of George's acquaintance during this academic school year. As I am sure many of you can attest, he is cheerful and enthusiastic, and greets everyone with a smile. Importantly, he ensures safety of our children in crossing a busy intersection during school drop off and pickup and is selfless in his contributions to the Twain Community.

Perhaps unknown is that George and his family have had a major event in their lives. Specifically, George's wife has been battling cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. Despite this situation, George maintains a positive outlook. He continues to perform his duties as a crossing guard in the morning and afternoon, traveling to meet with his wife for her treatment in the interim.

This GoFundMe is intended to raise donations for George and his family to provide financial support for treatment associated costs and to hopefully provide an opportunity for relief during these challenging times. Importantly, this is intended to show George and his family that they are not alone but that they are in our thoughts and prayers and have the full support of the Twain community. Any donation is welcomed and greatly appreciated and will be directly provided to George and his family.
