Donate to Help Fund Michael Kutzer's Green Burial

My husband, Michael Kutzer, passed away peacefully on December 31st after fighting liver failure for two months. He was a compassionate man who lived his life full of creativity and joy. He had such a unique and humorous view of the world around us, and a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature, and the way in which nature thrived and decayed only to bring forth new life once more. Michael’s wish was for a green burial, so that his body could return to the Earth in the way nature intended.

We have found a beautiful green-burial cemetery, the Natural Path Sanctuary, that is dedicated to allowing our bodies to decay and recycle into nature, fostering new growth and new life all around us. It is exactly the element of nature Michael loved exploring in his art and what he hoped for in his death: that life in all its marvels, grows, matures, and decays, only to flourish into new life. In the oddest turn of events that Michael would find some humor in, the Natural Path Sanctuary is also one of the most affordable burial places for green-burials in Wisconsin.

Despite that, we did not anticipate Michael’s passing or have any funds set aside for his passing. We live on a very fixed income. Between the funeral home costs and the cemetery costs, we simply can't afford the burial Michael deserves.

The minimum cost of the funeral home is $4,000. The cost of the cemetery is $4,500. These costs need to be paid before burial, and I have enough to cover a little over a thousand of this upfront, but not the rest.

Several of our friends have asked if there is anything they can do to help; as it turns out, this is the biggest help we need right now. I know it is a lot to ask, but I am hoping you can donate any small amount to help achieve this goal for him. If you are able, I thank you very gratefully. And if you are unable, I thank you for taking the time to read this, and for remembering Michael for the wonderful, artistic, insightful man he was.

I am adding an approximate service date due to GoFundMe's requirements, but there isn't a set date yet. Thank you for your understanding.

Thank you,
His loving wife,
Susan
