Help Fund Cowboy’s Procedure
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Audrey and I’m from Australia. I have two beautiful cats Cowboy (black and white) and Mini (while and beige). They are both two years old.
10th of October, Cowboy was unable to walk without being in major pain. He was crying with each step and kept collapsing on the floor because that was easier than moving. Obviously, as I love my little baby, I rushed him to the vet, and they admitted him into emergency care.
He has a blocked bladder and a heart murmur, both life-threatening conditions. Cowboy was in emergency care for six days. I was unable to visit him and I anxiously waited for the call from the vet every morning with their update. He wasn’t eating because he was too anxious so they were feeding him with a syringe - can’t imagine that made him feel any more comfortable. I feel guilty for not being there to comfort him.
Mini immediately started showing signs of loneliness. I think she missed her brother, I did too, we both wanted him home. She always had Cowboy to play with, but with him gone she was acting different.
When the vet told me the procedure would cost $2500+ my heart dropped. I am a 22-year-old university student getting my master’s degree in education. I work part-time as a teacher aide, and live paycheck to paycheck. I simply can’t afford this without starving myself and penny pinching for the next few months. I am doing everything I can, but without help, I’m out of options.
I brought Cowboy home on the 14th of October and everything seemed fine. He was cuddling with Mini and enjoying his view from the windows, but then waking up on the 15th he was showing the same signs as the first day this all started. I rushed him to the vet again and I was told that the original procedure was not successful and he had to undergo it again. This visit is going to cost me another $1k. The vet also said that if this procedure isn’t successful again, Cowboy will have to have surgery which will be another $3-$4k, which I’m hoping won’t have to happen because I don’t have nearly enough to afford that and also survive the coming months.
My cats always come first, so I had no choice but to agree to the second procedure, Cowboy’s life depends on it. I can’t put my baby’s life on the line because money is tight. Any contribution would mean the world to me, Cowboy, and Mini. I am truly grateful for any help you can give, whether it’s donating or sharing his story. All funds will go directly to funding his procedures.
Thank you for helping me and my little family,
Audrey.
