Many of you may know my story and many of you may not. On January 28, 2023 my life changed forever. My legs stopped working. Over the past two and a half years I have spent weeks in the hospital and months in a nursing facility. I am now back home, but bed- and wheelchair-bound. My life has revolved around the polyneuropathy in my feet, legs, arms and hands (non-diabetic related). Since 2023, I (along with many family and friends) have been praying for a miracle and/or a treatment to stop the progression of this awful illness. The doctor has finally begun a treatment plan. Now we pray and wait. Since 2023, I have had to rely on an ambulance or transport company to transport me anywhere (i.e., hospital, doctor’s appointments, hairdresser and/or family functions). I don’t know if anyone has ever had to pay for specialized transportation but it is extremely expensive ($250 per trip). On a fixed income, this is next to impossible. I have found a handicap accessible van that is owned by a friend of a friend but it’s not free. He is asking a very reasonable price, but it is more money than we have. We have about 75% of the price he is asking. On a fixed income, we can’t afford another bill, so a loan is not an option. I decided to start this GoFundMe page in hopes that if any of you feel led to assist, you can. Any help you could give would be so appreciated but even if you can’t help monetarily, I come to you asking that you pray very specifically that if it is God’s will that he lay his healing hands on me, that the treatment the doctor is giving me will help improve my condition and for God to make a path for us to purchase a van for transport. UPDATE: The van owned by the friend of a friend has now been sold so we are currently searching for a van.
