Hi my name is Jody Street and I am fundraising for my brother in law Frederic Street. Fred was recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer that has spread to other areas of his body. Fred has been a school teacher his entire adult life, working with children who need a positive role model. Fred selflessly has given his life to his students and helped them as well as their families in so many ways. Fred has never missed a day of school in 30 years but is currently unable to work at all due to his illness. He does have medical insurance but as you can imagine not being able to work and mounting non covered expenses has added additional stress to an already worrisome situation. For the last few years Fred has spent many of his weekends preparing meals for the homeless in the area he lives, including holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving. I have not met many as selfless as he is and as willing to help those in need, be there to lend a hand or go out of his way whenever possible. He worries more about the people he helps being okay instead of focusing on getting well. If you know Fred and would like to help, it would be appreciated in so many ways.
