Hello, I am Hemanta Adhikary (Research Scientist, Cancer Proteomics) and I am raising funds for my 47-year-old brother Sanjib Adhikary. Sanjib lives with my elderly parents and his young family ( a 5-year-old daughter and wife) in Guwahati, Assam, India. Sanjib was diagnosed with Glioblastoma multiforme WHO grade IV--an aggressive malignant brain tumour. He underwent a major brain surgery in the Apollo Main Hospital, Chennai, India on November 2023.
My sister-in-law had to give up her school teacher job to take care of him. My family has already sold some land they had. My father is retired. We have already depleted all our financial resources for my brother's surgery plus subsequent chemotherapy and radiation therapy and all the adjacent treatments suggested by experts in the field.
Our last hope is to bring him to the US to participate in a clinical trial (https://www.ivybraintumorcenter.org/brain-tumor-clinical-trials/current-trials/) to prolong his life. This fundraising is our last resort to raise money for his ticket to the US and treatments.
We urge you to contribute whatever little you can (no amount is a small amount) so that we can prolong Sanjib's life and help advance brain cancer research at the same time. Sanjib and my whole family will be forever grateful to you for considering his case.
