Hi everyone,

I never thought I’d have to make a post like this, but our family is going through a really tough time right now. A few days ago, our apartment flooded after a building pipe burst, and a lot of the things we owned were either ruined or badly damaged. It all happened so suddenly — one moment we were fine, and the next I was standing in inches of water trying to save what I could while holding Shiloh.

Out of all the units affected, ours was the only apartment left uninhabitable. We’ve since been relocated to a new place, but we’re basically starting over from scratch when it comes to our big items. Between moving, cleaning, and trying to make this new space feel like home, it’s been emotionally and financially overwhelming — especially with a 5 month old baby to care for.

To make things even harder, this all happened right at the beginning of the month — so on top of losing our belongings, we’re still expected to pay rent for the new place. Isaiah is our sole income and he had to take some time off to move our things, which added another layer of financial strain.

Being that we’re in Texas, it’s nearly impossible to get any second hand items from family and friends, meaning we need to purchase them ourselves.

Right now, I’m mainly trying to replace just the essentials:

• A bed and bedframe

• Baby items like diapers, toys, and clothes

• Groceries and basic household needs

• Miscellaneous needs (bedding, cleaning supplies, pet beds, etc.)

I’m not trying to replace everything we lost — just enough to help us get back on our feet and have some stability again.
