Hi, my name is Faith. I hate that I even have to make this. I’ve been independent my whole life. My first job was cleaning shoes with a toothbrush for my cousins when I was 12. I recently had a baby and relocated from Arizona to Milwaukee in hopes of being closer to family and a better opportunity. Unfortunately, I would soon find out I was in for a surprise. I was catfished on the apartment and have the slummiest of slumlords in one of the worst neighborhoods in Milwaukee, but I still managed to be grateful. I just figured I would work really hard day and night to save money without having to do something nefarious.
On July 11 at around 1:20 am, I had gotten a really big DoorDash order after DoorDashing all day for pennies. I honestly don’t even know how this order came through my phone because I would swear that I had turned the app off. But when I got home, there was a three-legged deaf mouse running around like he paid rent here with his friends. Me and my children were so over this. When we got that $18 ding for those two orders, we jumped in the car and flew to Fryerz.
When I got to the location of the drop-off, I was really confused because the app would not load. I started asking my kids to check their phones, and we soon found out that our phone service was disconnected. So I sat in front of the house for 10 minutes, hoping someone would notice I was outside while trying to contact T-Mobile. If T-Mobile turns my phone off, they usually charge me a $60 restoration fee, which I was calling to get waived.
After 10 minutes of sitting like a duck in the hood, I decided I should probably go home and connect to Wi-Fi to let everyone know what was going on. When I got home, my phone instantly started ringing. DoorDash was calling me, and the customer was calling me, but I was still on hold with T-Mobile. I clicked over for the DoorDash support while texting with the customer. I explained the situation to DoorDash support, and he acted clueless for a while, but then after four times of explaining to him the situation, he said he would take care of it on his end, and the order disappeared.
So now the customer is texting me angry, and I’m trying to be the humblest of humble while explaining to her but she kept insisting I was trying to steal her order and that I needed to take it back. I told her that if I leave my house, I won’t have any service because I’m connected to the Wi-Fi. I then told her that I would pray for her, that God will give her understanding about the situation because I know that she’s mad and probably hungry. I told her to contact DoorDash and have a blessed night. When I told her to have a blessed night, she got so mad. She said she had my location and came to my house.
When she called me and said she was outside repeating my address, my first thought was to grab my firearm, but my son told me to spare her, so I decided to call the police. We watched her vandalize my property for 30 minutes while the police took their time arriving. DoorDash says that I have to pay for the damages before they will reimburse me. Mind you, my first order that day was seven dollars, which took me 30 minutes away in traffic. The way that DoorDash lowballs you, how could they ever think that I will be able to pay all the damages on my car? My carnote is already high & so is my insurance because a couple years ago I was in a hit & run. This is thier fault. No one else’s. The Mitsubishi dealership said it was $6000 worth of damage before taxes & labor. The police took so long to submit a subpoena to even find out who this person was that I broke my lease and have to move in 3 weeks. Every dime donated goes directly to the strengthening of my Faith ❤️. Please help a sista out. You are greatly appreciated.
I am fundraising to cover the $6000 worth of damages to my car and the costs associated with breaking my lease and relocating. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I navigate this difficult time for me and my children.
