Hello, my name is Elvis. I'm 45 years old. I was born with scoliosis and I have worked very hard all my life since I was 16. My vertebrae C6 collapsed onto my C7, compressing a nerve. In the process, I lost most of my strength in my right arm. Numbness and excruciating pain kicked in immediately, debilitating me to the point I couldn't do anything but cry. I had to self-medicate until finally, 2 months into this painful ordeal, a doctor finally decided to help me at UVA Hospital in Charlottesville, VA, and gave me proper pain management medication.
I just had my surgery on October 31st, 2025. I haven't been able to work for over 3 months and I've fallen behind on my bills and rent. My landlord has been merciful and hasn't asked me to leave even though I can't pay my rent. I'm hoping that maybe someone will see my case and is in a good financial place to be able to help me out. I never thought I'd find myself pleading for help to strangers, but it's all I have left.
I would like to get enough money to pay him the back rent and have a little to move to a small place with the lowest rent possible, pay a few months in advance until I can recover and go back to work. Anything helps. I cannot drive but I do have a vehicle, and I need to pay the insurance so it doesn't lapse. I can get friends to drive me to my appointments. I don't know if my approach is the correct one, I'm not good at this. I'm in a very humbling place in life.
Thank you, and may God multiply your gifts. I cannot explain how grateful I am for any amount! $1 goes a long way when nothing is all I have.
