On September 6th, 15-year-old Eloise Vermouth was in an ATV accident while on a camping trip in Idaho. She was life-flighted to Primary Children’s Hospital in SLC, where she has remained for the past 10 days.

Eloise suffered multiple serious injuries, including several facial fractures (skull, cheek, maxilla, and nose) and a broken arm. She has already undergone two major surgeries: one to repair her shattered nose and another on her arm, where a titanium plate and pins were placed. Doctors anticipate that she may need additional surgeries in the future, including removal of the plate (no sooner than one year from now) and possible reconstructive procedures for her nose.

While Eloise is eager to return home, she still has a ways to go in her healing journey. She has lost over 17 lbs since being admitted and will have a lot of work to do as she regains her strength. She will need physical therapy, medical follow-ups, tutoring as she misses school, and even modifications at home such as extra handrails to help her get around safely. The hardest part so far for Eloise has been the pain of recovery and the isolation of being in the hospital, but she continues to push herself so she can get home and back to her normal life.

Friends and loved ones have asked how they can support the Vermouth family. The most important gift is continued love, prayers, and encouragement for Eloise. For those wishing to help financially, this fundraiser will go directly to her parents, Brian and Anna Vermouth, to help cover:
  • Out-of-pocket medical expenses not covered by insurance
  • Future surgeries (titanium plate removal and potential nasal reconstruction)
  • Modifications to the home to assist with mobility and comfort for Eloise
  • Lost wages for Anna as she has stepped away from most work responsibilities to care for Eloise

Every donation, no matter the size, will ease the financial burden and allow the family to focus on helping Eloise heal and return to the life of a healthy, active teenager.

The Vermouth family is deeply grateful for the love and kindness being shown during this unexpected and challenging time.
