We are Ekopedia, a nonprofit organization committed to conservation, innovation, climate action, and community empowerment in Tanzania. Our mission is to protect ecosystems, promote sustainable solutions, and equip youth and women with green skills and opportunities that improve lives while protecting the planet.
Right now, we are fundraising for our GUTUKA Campaign, a powerful initiative under our flagship program Green Fursa.
Through GUTUKA, we are installing clean energy cooking stoves for “Mama Ntilie” (street food vendors) and boarding schools across Tanzania. These stoves reduce dangerous smoke, cut down household costs, and protect families’ health — while also fighting deforestation caused by charcoal and firewood use.
GUTUKA also:
- Promotes tree planting in deforested areas
- Trains communities in waste-to-income solutions (like turning waste into charcoal alternatives)
- Provides women and youth with green entrepreneurship opportunities
We are starting with Pwani, Morogoro, and Tabora regions — areas heavily dependent on charcoal — before expanding to 10 regions nationwide.
Your donations will go directly toward:
- Purchasing and distributing clean cooking stoves
- Training communities in waste management and renewable energy use
- Supporting tree planting drives and green livelihood projects
- Covering logistics to reach vulnerable groups like women food vendors and schools
All funds will be received and managed by Ekopedia, and distributed transparently to support the campaign activities on the ground.
