Hi, my name is Aisha and I’m fundraising for Dr. Sumayya.

Please find below a detailed write up about her journey detailed by her loving Husband who has been championing fundraising efforts. This gofundme was set up with the hope that it is shared widely and reaches people all over the world.

Dr Sumayya Dalhat, MBBS (ABU,2021) has been bedridden since the 4th of May, 2024 when she had Right Hemispheric Stroke which was followed by Left Hemispheric Stroke on the 18th of May, 2024 and Hemorrhagic Conversion of the latter.

After extensive consultations with her managing Neurologist, Physiotherapist, Orthopaedic Surgeon and similar specialists at home and abroad, it was concluded that she needs extensive neuro-rehabilitation which is not readily available in our country. We therefore have had to seek for care abroad.

We have been able to contact one of the Seha Rehabilitation Hospitals in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. We had a had tele-consultation, afterwhich they came up with a management plan and we received a quotation for the cost.

The rehabilitation is expected to last for 3 months at the cost of approximately £72,000 excluding flight, visa and feeding costs for patient and caregiver.

Fundraising was commenced by the Medical Women Association of Nigeria (MWAN), Kaduna State Chapter but we have only been able to raise £9,500.

We still have a long way to go but with your help we can achieve our goal.
