Donate to help directly Burmese people hit by the earthquake

Hi everyone,

You may be asking yourself why I am creating a fundraiser when all the official fundraising is happening in several countries.

I would like the donated funds to reach people that are truly in need without any intermediaries taking whatever they want before even reaching the actual people. As you can read in the article, the military regime controls less than a quarter of the country currently, and the regions controlled by the people will not get any funds coming via the "official" channels - this has happened before when the cyclone Nargis hit Burma.So, how likely is it that "official" funds will reach the actual people that are in need?

In short, I will be sending the collected money via Buddhist monasteries so that they can directly help people on the ground. It will not be easy depending on the amount but I can guarantee the money will reach the people. For security reasons, I cannot share how this will happen but I regularly send money to monasteries in Burma.

So, please donate, however small you think your contribution might be, and the money (except from GoFundMe and bank fees for exchange rates) will reach the real people.

In the mean time, if you believe in well wishing, please send mentally your love (metta) and compassion (karuna) to the people that survived the events so that they could find some comforting positive vibes coming their way.
