Our dear friend Debbie Matthews has done so much to help the motocross industry, but now she is in need of our help! She has recently had an operation on her wrist and a hysterectomy which resulted in infection and the discovery of cancer on her kidney, which is located directly next to a major vein that provides blood flow. Medicare only covers so much and medical bills are expected to be very high in fighting the fight of her life.
Debbie has spent her life in motocross. She has run motocross schools to teach women how to ride and race. She is a champion for women in motocross, was instrumental in getting Women’s Motocross recognized by the AMA in Supercross 1995 and the Outdoor MX Nationals 1996-2007, creating a recognized Pro series run on pro day and is a friend to everyone! She fights for her industry and we are hoping her industry will fight for her.
Along with her business partner, Super Joe Reed, they started Universal Motorsports Museum in order to preserve motocross history, pioneers and legends.
Debbie has been married to Brian for 45 years and they have two adult children and a granddaughter.
Debbie is currently in talks with Scripps Hospital, MD Anderson & Loma Linda Hospitals trying to secure the absolute best physician/surgeon available as this is a very delicate procedure.
We will keep everyone informed of her progress and hope that you will join us in helping this wonderful person.
Please share and help us keep this going.
