Hello my name is Amber Geiger. I am Dean Stirling’s sister.
As many of you may know, Dean had an accident at work, his hair slipped out and got caught in a grinder, he ended up with a fractured skull, brain bleed, and lacerated ear. He lost conciousness and fell, smashing his head on the pavement after the initial injury.
He was airlifted from MJH to RGH via STARS after a CT was permformed which found 2 brain bleeds. By the time he arrived in Regina (15 mins later) the bleed had doubled in size. He was immediately rushed into surgery as soon as they landed, surgery took 4 hours. After the surgery he was stable, but in a medically induced coma. A blood clot the size of a large mans fist was removed from his head that was pushing on his brain.
Dean is currently in the ICU where he will remain until he is able to fully regain conciousness on his own. There have been positive signs, but the road to recovery is going to be long and extremely tough on Dean and Cheyenne’s families. Travel, rehabilitation, meals, hotels and loss of work are just some of the expenses the family will be facing after this tragedy.
