This is not something the family ever thought they would need to ask and I know Sarah feels great shame to even ask but financially they are struggling to see a way forward these two have spent years looking after and supporting others and their loved ones throughout the uk let’s try and help them any way we can.
any help would be greatly appreciated
so the story so far:
On Friday 27th of Oct dany had a tonic-clinic seizure at home and was rushed to Dumfries hospital the cause was found to be due to a partial ruptured inter cranial aneurysm measuring 5.6cm in his right frontal lobe, he was kept in Dumfries critical care unit on Friday night to stabilise and moved to Glasgow neurological critical care unit on the morning of 28th and again stabilised.
Sunday the 29th was his first surgery which went well although it has taken 9 hours to complete much longer than expected due to the size and complexity of the aneurysm. At this time he is stable.
They have decided to do surgery in two parts.
part one is to insert coil to stop the bleeding on the aneurysm the second one will be in 2-3 weeks to stent and support the artery below the aneurysm they decided both procedures together would be to much risk at this time, this will obviously extend his recovery and his time in hospital but is the safest option by far and the main thing is getting him recovered.
Dany will have to spend up to 8 weeks in a city hospital 94 miles from home. Understandably, Sarah can not leave his side, but unfortunately, the hospital can not offer family residence, leaving Sarah moving from hotels, at her own cost. Coming up to the Christmas market season, this will be impossible to afford,
Any funds will be used to ensure dany can be stress free and take the time he requires to recover ( approx 6 months from work)
At this time understandably Sarah is also unable to work as she needs to be by his side so this puts the family under great financial strain as both wages are lost and SSP will only go so far.
If anyone has the ability to provide some help, even if you live near the hospital and can offer a washing machine , use of shower, or a sofa for a night, anything would be greatly appreciated.
*UPDATE*
Daniel had his second operation on 11th of December
During the operation they have found a secondary aneurysm beginning to form beside the initial aneurysm this has been coiled also and stents put in place to divert the blood flow away from this area.
Daniel will be observed more closely over the coming months due to the rareness of a second aneurysm trying to form.
He’s at home doing well at this time.
The family would just like to take this time to express their gratitude to everyone who has helped in some way from a donation to a kind word, we will forever be grateful to you all for your kindness
