Donate to Help Daniel Start Over After Fire

08/21/25 Update for this fundraiser: To the many generous folks that contributed to Daniel and his father, THANK YOU! We achieved a target I did not anticipate, but shame on me for underestimating the power of people that truly care for another. Through this GoFundMe and a few cash donations, we were able to provide funds to cover rent for more than 2 mos. We were also able to gift Daniel a Schwinn bike thanks to a considerate donor. In a time of hardship, we stepped up. THANK YOU ALL for your kind hearts and for being a blessing to both Daniel and his dad.

I am turning the GoFundMe off considering we reached the goal of providing for initial living expenses. If you still feel led to give, please contact Vicky Mcculloch at Hardees.

08/19/25 Daniel Upchurch and his father suffered a complete loss of their homeplace when a fire broke out on Thursday, Aug 14th. They are starting over with only the clothes on their backs until insurance can help with some of the homeplace proceeds. Red Cross has assisted them with a place to sleep through Wednesday. They are working hard to find a place to rent and will need help with the proceeds necessary to cover the upfront costs plus a month in advance. They will definitely have other needs as time passes, but at this time the immediate need is for financial help to assist them in finding a place to start over. You may have seen Daniel if you visit Hardee's from time to time. You will find him on the grill about 7 days per week. He's a great employee who rides his bike to work every single day. And yes, he also lost his bike in the fire.

I am working with Vicky McCulloch from Hardee's to assist this family. If you feel led to donate to this GoFundMe, I can assure you that your money will go toward the upfront cost associated with the rent agreement.

They are also in pursuit of a new place to call home. They are seeking a no-frills place... and somewhere centrally located in Shelbyville (again, Daniel takes his bike to work each day). If you know of someone with a rental opportunity for Daniel and his father, please feel free to let me know.

Will you also pray for these folks? I know God will provide.
Kindly,
Tina
