Hi, my name is Tim, and I am fundraising for my brother Dan and his long-time partner Debbie. Dan is in the hospital suffering from liver and kidney failure. Dan has been dealing with some health issues lately, however this sudden hospitalization was unexpected and the terminal diagnosis even more shattering. Dan & Debbie live in Alabama. Her parents also live in the area, which is a comfort, and her core group of emotional support is coming out of Maine from her kids and extended family there, but most of Dan's family is in Idaho. The hospital is in Birmingham, almost two hours away and Debbie is driving back and forth daily to be with Dan and give updates to Family/Friends. They have a dog, Jesse, at home, so Debbie must travel home every evening to take care of things on that end and then drive back to the hospital in the morning to be with Dan. The emotional stress of not being able to be there in the evening with Dan, and with the loss of work, pumping out money for the gas, parking fees, etc. to get there, as well as the medical bills that are already quickly piling up, creates a financial burden no one should have to bear in a time of such grief.
