**Help Damien Rebuild After His Motorcycle Accident**

Hello, my name is Sarah, and I'm reaching out to you on behalf of my brother, Damien. On Monday 7 October 2024, Damien was involved in a devastating motorcycle accident that changed his life forever. Tragically, the accident resulted in the loss of his leg, and he now faces an incredibly difficult road ahead, both physically and emotionally.

Damien has always been a fighter. He is known for his positive attitude, sense of humor, and willingness to help others, no matter what challenges he faces. But right now, he's in need of support like never before.

As a result of this life-changing accident, Damien is unable to work while he undergoes significant surgeries and embarks on his journey to recovery. As those close to him would know, Damien’s love for health and fitness have always played an important role in his life. Damien also took great pride in coaching others in their martial arts and fitness journeys at Dobby’s Gym, which he has also sadly had to pause while he focuses on his recovery and what the future holds.

Most importantly, Damien wants to continue co-parenting his beautiful children, Mia and Hannah, at home, when he is potentially able to return from rehabilitation next year.

The road to recovery will involve not only physical therapy and rehabilitation but also the fitting of a prosthetic leg, ongoing medical treatments, and home modifications to help him live as independently as possible.

**Why This Fundraiser is Important**

Damien's accident has left him with an uncertain future. He is facing many expenses that are not fully covered, and TAC payments will only cover a portion of his standard income calculated over the last 12 months. Unfortunately, he changed jobs and didn’t work for a short period, which impacts this.

Some of the expenses that are not fully covered, or not covered at all are:

• Prosthetic limb and fittings for sports prosthetic

• Physical and occupational therapy

• Some additional home modifications for accessibility

• Increased childcare expenses for Mia and Hannah

• A vehicle that supports his leg stump and can be modified for accessibility

As you can imagine, this financial burden is overwhelming, especially since Damien is unable to work during his recovery. His physical and emotional strength will be tested in the months ahead, and this fundraiser is crucial in helping him regain some sense of normality and independence.
