My dad suffered from a severe hemorrhagic brain stem stroke on 11th of December 2024.

He presented to ED in a coma however, with a miracle, he defied the 3% chance of survival.

After a long month of ICU stay, being on a ventilator for over a week, having hospital acquired pneumonia, ongoing antibiotics, he is now being transferred out to a different ward to commence rehabilitation.

However, the Neurologists have suggested my dad to have a private 24 hr nurse to be closely monitored due to the severity of his illness.

The cost of his medical bills are rapidly increasing- up to 5.5M PHP ($150,000 + AUD)

In the Philippines, there is no such thing as Medicare. Unfortunately, my dad also didn’t have any health insurance therefore everything is out of pocket.

With the current rising cost of living, it is almost impossible to keep afloat and still help with the medical bills for our dad.
