Hello everyone,

My name is Colleen. I am 45 years old and a single mother of one young son. I was recently diagnosed with stage 4 AVN and was told I will need a hip replacement. I would have liked to put this off for some time. However, due to my declining health, I am unable to do so. I have scheduled my surgery for the end of January of next year. Currently, I am unable to perform daily tasks such as cleaning, playing catch with my son, bike riding, any lifting, pushing, pulling, etc. Even simple things that we take for granted each day like using the restroom and taking a shower have proven to be quite difficult lately. Needless to say, my quality of life has been severely affected by my recent diagnosis as well as my son's. In order to schedule the surgery, I will need to raise enough money to ensure I can not only pay for the surgery but keep my bills paid as well. The surgery alone will cost $5,100 out of pocket. As a single parent, I am the only income to this family. I do have short-term disability, but it only pays 60% of my income, not nearly enough to cover living costs. I will also incur other expenses, both medical and non-medical. I will most likely be out of work for 6-8 weeks. I am only asking for what we need. Nothing more. To everyone who has taken the time to read this, help in any way, and/or donate, my family and I appreciate you very much. I know that I am blessed and will continue to be. I am so unbelievably grateful for any help we receive, no matter what form that comes in.
