On October 11, 2023, Chef Willie Singleton was heading home after his shift at Brays Island and was hit by a drunk driver. After seeing photos of the wreckage left of his vehicle, no one should've survived. But Chef Willie did! He was severely injured and will not be able to work for 4-6 months at best. Chef Willie has been with Brays Island for 9 years. He has 4 kids and a wife who is a special education teacher for military dependent kids grades 6-8 at Laurel Bay. She has had to take leave from her job to take care of Chef Willie.
