Help Chef Fouad from CBH with Emergency Medical Expenses

Hi, my name is Carmen Galvez and I am fundraising to help Chef Fouad from The Canadian Brewhouse in Mahogany, Calgary, with emergency medical expenses due to being struck by a Motor Vehicle on Sunday morning, November 10th, 2024, while walking back from work in Mahogany Terrace SE.

Fouad was finished his Saturday night shift at the Canadian Brewhouse and left pass midnight walking on Mahogany Terrace SE when a large dark vehicle struck him leaving him unconscious on the street for hours and the vehicle did a Hit and Run! He woke up on the dawn of the Sunday and managed to walk home where he passed out again and lost tons of blood. He was finally driven to the Hospital Emergency at South Health Campus and then transported to Foothills by ambulance on November 12 and admitted for treatment of his blunt facial trauma trauma.

He was Diagnose with Facial fractures resulting from MVA and on November 15th, 2024, and presented the following issues in the Hospital:

1. Pneumomediastinum, with an initial concern of a laryngeal injury or esophageal injury.

2. Facial Fractures: Le Fort 1 fracture commuted, nasal bone fracture, mandibular alveolar bone fracture.

He had the following interventions: Debridement of large intra-oral lacerations with multiple dental extractions ( around 8 teeth) Open reduction and internal fixation bilateral compound maxillary fractures. Closed reduction and splinting of nasal fractures. He was treated by ENT specialist, Plastic Surgeon, Physio therapist and OT to stabilize him and be able to be discharged.

Fouad is in Canada as a Temporary Worker and Alberta Health is not covering any of these treatments in the hospital and future medical care of his injuries. Dental work will be extensive to replace 8 extracted teeth. Trauma was extensive and no timeline when he will be able to go back to work. The police has not hints who was responsible for this horrible accident.
