Donate to help Charles aka Dave aka Reefer man

As many of you may know Charles was in a severe car accident, he was able to walk away from the accident but unfortunately experienced a traumatic brain injury. We (his family) have had a lot of difficulties accessing the help he needs in a timely manner within our broken healthcare system.

The Charles we once knew, may now be forever changed as he cannot complete basic tasks and activities of daily living like cooking, cleaning, writing, reading, opening doors, walking. Charles’ memory is also greatly impacted and he often will confuse the past with the present. He has difficulty remembering who people are, especially recent/ short term memories within the last year.

Currently, Charles is unable to continue on with his business as he is unable to read, write and manage his money efficiently.

Currently Charles has chosen to live on his own in downtown Vancouver. His family is having difficulties supporting him physically, mentally and financially with the level of care he needs. He is unable to manage his diabetic medications and needs daily support with his activities of daily living. He also needs a walker and other medical supplies.

We (his family) are asking for support to help Charles in accessing a support/ care staff to assist Charles once daily until we are able to get him the help he needs through the medical system.
